Nurse Manager
Janet Ashley
The Practice Nurses carry out various duties including:
It will assist Receptionists in making
the most appropriate booking for you if you are able to provide full
details of your requirements.
Travel vaccines are given at a dedicated Saturday morning clinic, held every three weeks at the Ellen Badger Hospital. They allow travellers to be given a planned, comprehensive service without encroaching on other routine and urgent appointments. What you need to do If you think that you will need travel vaccines this is what you need to do:-
1. Obtain
a travel pack from the Medical Centre Reception or download one
here. A practice nurse will then contact you to make an appointment within one week.
Prices Some long haul or complex itineraries will require more than one appointment. Malaria Malaria prevention tablets are
available on private prescription. A separate appointment may be
required with your doctor to obtain this prescription.
Please do not make this
appointment until the practice nurse has advised you that it is
necessary. Please note: Last minute vaccinations cannot be accommodated by the Travel Clinic, thus only travellers who have left ample time to complete their schedules can be vaccinated. Depending on the destination travellers may require up to 6 weeks to complete their schedule. If you have less time than this before travelling or would find it more convenient to have your vaccinations elsewhere we would suggest that you contact MASTA at www.masta-travel-health.com for information about alternative clinics. We regret that we are very unlikely to be able to meet your needs if your travel date is less than 3 weeks from the date that you return your documentation.
